Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the simulation of human intelligence by machines. Unlike traditional software that follows fixed rules, AI systems learn from data and improve over time.
There are three broad types:
- **Narrow AI**: Designed for a specific task (your email spam filter, Spotify recommendations)
- **General AI**: Hypothetical human-level intelligence — doesn't exist yet
- **Super AI**: Beyond human intelligence — science fiction for now
Most of what we call 'AI' today is narrow AI, and it's incredibly powerful within its domain.
